Harry Dee Anderson, age 71, died Saturday, July 7, 2012.

He was born November 24, 1940, in Canton, the son of the late Harry and Modjeska (Smittle) Anderson.

Harry retired in 2004 from the Ohio Department of Transportation. Previously he worked at the Timken Company and owned Burson Radiator.

He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Richardson in Anchorage, AK.

Harry is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Bruce Samblanet of Columbus, Marcy and Thomas Ream of Jackson Twp., five grandchildren, Brian and Sean Ream; Maddie, Nate, and Cole Samblanet; former wife, Rosemary Anderson; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Gerry Anderson, brother, Clark Anderson; sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Tom Bruno and sister, Jan Hand; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sondra Fockler and brother, Noel Anderson.

Harry made the most of every day he had. A friend to everyone, he was extraordinarily generous. An amazing chef, card player, fisherman, golfer, and businessman, he could build or fix anything. His sense of humor saw him and his family through the best and worst of times. He dearly loved his daughters, sons-in-law and grandsons and his humor, wit and strength will carry on in all of them.

A celebration of Harry's life will be held at the Fraternal Order of Police McKinley Lodge #2 at 1411 Cherry Avenue NE in Canton on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 from 5PM to 9PM. Family and Friends are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Harry's name to the American Cancer Society (Hope Lodge).
