Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Hazel Marie Pizzino of Jackson Twp., passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born on November 21, 1927 in Kenova, West Virginia to Loranza and Bessie (Clarkson) Nunley.
Hazel was the loving wife of John E. Pizzino Sr. for over 58 years and will be remembered by her family and friends for her gentleness, kindness and devotion to her family. She was a homemaker and enjoyed attending the New Beginnings Church.
Hazel is survived by her children Mary Jo (Bruce) Bourne of Alliance, Anthony (Margaret) Pizzino of Louisville, Deborah (Greg) Breitenstine, John E. (Lisa) Pizzino, Joetta (William) Winnett and Roseanna Pizzino all of Jackson Township. Her 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren will cherish their many fond memories of her. Also, surviving are her sisters-in-law Gloria Cicchinelli, Alma Boerner and Margaret Bozarth all of Massillon, nieces CeCe Stephenson of Westlake Village, California and Linda (Tom) Menches of Massillon, nephews Frank (Joy) Cicchinelli of Massillon, Edward (Shirley) Chadwick of Huntington, West Virginia and Anthony Schopp of Hilton Head, SC, special friend Linda Hoffman, and many more nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Pizzino Sr. who died January 13, 2005, brothers Kermit, Charles and James Nunley, sisters Dorothy Best and Ruth Davis.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Son Dang, his staff and Crossroads Hospice for their kindness and compassion while caring for Hazel.
Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 11 A.M. at Heitger Funeral Home JACKSON CHAPEL, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 A.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Beginnings Church of the Nazarene, 5640 Portage St., N.W, North Canton, Ohio 44720.
