Helen M. Bergmeyer, age 99 formerly of Canton, died Thursday, November 29, 2012 at The Legends Care Center in Massillon.

She was born March 16, 1913 and was daughter of the late Charles E. and Esther F. (Greenwalt) Rohr. She was formerly a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church where she belonged to the Woman's Guild and volunteered with Bingo. She was a volunteer at Massillon State Hospital and enjoyed reading and knitting.

Helen is survived by sons Donald J. Bergmeyer of Massillon and Jerry (Cathy) Bergmeyer of Canton, daughter Patricia Jekubik of Massillon, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Earl Bergmeyer who died in 2000, sons David E. Bergmeyer who died in 1974 and James E. Bergmeyer who died in 1999, daughter-in-law Cheryl (Kraus) Bergmeyer who died in 2002, and her sister Grace.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012 from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. at Heitger Funeral Home Massillon Chapel. Funeral Mass will follow at 10 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Massillon with Rev. John Tully celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
