Helga O. Rowlands, age 83, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away January 14, 2017. Helga was born and raised in Berlin, Germany and resided in Canton, Ohio for 35 years before relocating to Fort Myers, Florida in 1987. She spent a good part of 50 years working in retail and banking management. She also enjoyed using her German heritage to assist the German-American community both professionally and socially. Helga was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Buddy Earl; daughter, Jacqueline Wannemacher; sister, Mignon; and parents, Karl and Antoni Lange.
She is survived by her four children, Christine (Keith) Nidy, Buddy Chris Rowlands, Jeannette Rowlands Dumot, Shayne (Cheri) Rowlands, two sisters, twenty grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. As the family matriarch, she was everyone's confidante, friend and advisor, and she will be greatly missed.
A private burial service will be held.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Organization.
