Herbert A. Benson, age 84, of  Jackson Twp., passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023.
He was born April 19, 1939, in Yosemite, Kentucky, son of the late Herbert and Thelma (Davis) Benson.  He lived in Yosemite, KY until 1952 when his father passed away and he and his mother moved to Massillon.  He attended Washington High School  and joined the Air Force in 1956.    He was a jet mechanic until 1960.  Upon his discharge, he worked for Roby Plumbing.  He retired from Republic Steel where he worked for 38 years as a furnace operator.
He was an active member of the Sons of Herman Schiller Lodge for many years and Amvets Post #12.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years,Nancy (Haines) Benson of Jackson Twp.; sons Bryan Benson and Mike Benson; daughter,  Michelle Martino; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and many friends.
Burial will be Friday, May 26, 2023 at Oakwood Cemetery at  10 A.M. with military honors.
