Herbert J. Wetzel, age 86 of Massillon, passed away on December 22, 2012 following a lengthly illness.

He was born in Massillon on March 17, 1926 son of the late Howard J. and Emma C. (Kuntz) Wetzel.

Herbert served his country during WWII and was a veteran of the Army.

He retired in 1998 after 52 years with Eaton Manufacturing where he was a die grinder in the tool room. He belonged to St. Mary Catholic Church and worked with and raised horses. He was a former member of REACT and worked with amature radio.

Herbert is survived by his sister Mary Manley of Dalton and numerous nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers George, Arvine, Leo, Laverne and Charles Wetzel, and sisters Helen Radtke and Frances Romeo.

SERVICES HAVE CHANGED

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 28, 2012 at 11 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Edward Gretchko celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on THURSDAY December 27, 2012 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Barbara Church Building Fund, 2813 Lincoln Way N.W., Massillon, Ohio 44647.
