Howard K. Burgess, age 88  of Jackson Twp., passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017.
He was born September 21, 1928, and is the son of  the late Jesse Lee and Bonnie (Workman) Burgess.
Howard was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War Era.
Howard and his late wife of 56 years Betty (Williams) Burgess were charter members of Church of the Lakes United Methodist Church.  He was also a member of N. Canton VFW, American Legion and N.Canton Eagles.  He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Howard retired from  Jackson Memorial High School in 1983 where he had been an Industrial Arts teacher.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Teresa Burgess and  grandsons Blake and Daniel Burgess all of Drummonds, TN.
Funeral service will be held at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon, on Wednesday, March  29, 2017 at 11 A.M. with visitation from 10 to 11 prior to the service.
Burial to follow the service at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
