Howard Chester Griffin, age 86 of Bolivar, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Aultman Hospital.

He was born April 27, 1930 in Wilcoe, WV the son of the late John and Elva (Edwards) Griffin.

He was an Army veteran.

Howard retired from Ewing Chevy where he was an auto mechanic for many years.

He enjoyed fishing, helping others, and enjoyed talking to everyone he met.

Howard is survived by his children, Brenda (Bill) Smith, Charles Griffin, James (Autumn) Griffin; siblings, Ray Griffin, Laura (Ivan) Bowman, Marvin Junior (Carol) Griffin; sisters-in-law, Dee and Betty Griffin; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four siblings, Helena, Alfred, Willie, Joseph Harbert; nephew, Johnny; niece, Susan.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Heitger Funeral Home, Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave NW at 4 PM.  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 3 PM to 4 PM.
