James Corwin Decker, age 74 of Jackson Twp., passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Dalton following an extended illness.

He was born in Canton on July 12, 1938 son of the late Harvey and Madelene (Young) Decker.

James retired from Omni Die Casting in 2000 and enjoyed cars, motorcycles and racing of all types. He loved animals and rescued many who became members of the family.

He loved his family and is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judith E. (Mann) Decker of Jackson Twp., son James Decker of Massillon, daughters Kimberly (Scott) Fox of Winston-Salem, NC and Stephanie Coppock of Pueblo, Colorado, sisters Jill (George) Vogelgesang of Canton, and Melissa (Bill) Melvin of Hudson, grandchildren Erika, Jim, Chelsea, Jake, Rachel and Josh and greatgrandchildren Leyla and Taner.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Amherst Brethren in Christ Church at 1 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stark County Humane Society P.O. Box 7077 Canton, Ohio 44705 or Hospice and Pallative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Road, Wooster, Ohio 44691.

The family would like to thank the hospice staff and the staff of Shady Lawn Nursing Home for the loving and compassionate care given to Jim.
