James "Ed" Hensley, age 79 of Massillon, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Aultman Hospital. He was born December 10, 1943, in Amonate, Virginia, the son of the late John and Mabel (Muncie) Hensley. James was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam Era and was a member of the Marine Corp League, DAV, and VFW. Ed was a member of Divine Mercy Parish - St. Barbara Campus. He retired from Century Products and was a volunteer for Faith In Action. Ed is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jane (Stenger) Hensley; daughters, Amy (Tom) Helsel and Julie (Mike) Hules; and grandchildren, Teagan Helsel, Asher Helsel, Noah Hules and Ally Hules. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Barbara Campus, 2813 Lincoln Way NW at 11A.M. with The Very Reverend John E. Sheridan, J.C.L., S.T.L., V.F., celebrant. Calling hours will be held on Thursday prior to the Mass at the church from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. Burial to follow the service at St. Joseph Cemetery in Massillon. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Divine Mercy Parish - St. Barbara Campus 2813 Lincoln Way NW, Massillon, OH 44647 .
