James Richard Hurless, age 89 of Canton, Perry Township passed away October 12, 2022.

He was born July 9, 1933 in Uhrichsville, Ohio the son of the late Guy Vernon and Laura Katherine (Gantz) Hurless.

Jim was a 1951 graduate of Massillon Washington High School.  He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1955.

Jim retired from Timken in 1993 after 30 years of service.  He had worked with his father as a carpenter at Hurless Construction prior to joining Timken.

He was an avid motorcycle traveler having made long trips with his wife, Norma Jean. He also enjoyed flying, boating, softball, snowmobiling, and spending time with his family.

Jim is survived by his children, James V. (Rebecca) Hurless, William L. (Karen) Hurless, Lori J. Hurless; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; special relationship with his nephew, Kenneth E. Marshall (Christine May); sister-in-law, Blanche Hurless.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Norma Jean (Little) Hurless; three siblings, Roger I. Hurless, Virginia Mae Long, Norma Sherer Marshall; and a granddaughter, Danielle R. Lamb.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Forest Hill Cemetery, 4414 Cleveland Ave NW, Canton, OH 44709 at 10:30 AM with military honors.
