James (Jimmy) Rankl, Jr.,  age 56, a life resident of Massillon, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017 following a declining of health.
Jimmy was a 1978 graduate of Massillon Washington High School and a machinist by trade.  He was fan of drag racing and was part of the Magnolia Drag Racing Team.
Jimmy is survived by his father Jim Rankl Sr., step mother Janet (Huffman) Rankl, brothers Ty Rankl and Jonathan Rankl, sisters Tami Rankl-Cureton and Jamilynn Rankl, life long friends Todd Beckett and Keith Newbauer and numerous Aunts, Uncles and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his mother Janice (Stanley) and step-father Jim Hammer.
Cremation has taken place as per his wishes.
Celebration of Life Services will be held on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 8 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.
