James Pirrung, age 85 of Massillon, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018. He was born April 12, 1933, in Tiffin Ohio, son of the late Carl and Clara (Schwerzler) Pirrung. James retired from Sears and had worked for American Greetings and Village of Wilmot. He was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church, Massillon Moose and enjoyed carpentry and woodworking. James is survived by wife of 64 years, Donna J. (Holt) Pirrung, son Jim Pirrung, daughters Jean (Terry Henry) Pirrung, Sharon Wyles, Chris (Rod) Ebert and Pam (Jack) Close, sisters Florence Lucius and Frances Fleming, grandchildren Angie (Ian) Duncan, Dan Wyles, Niki (Glenn) Kirven, Chad (Dawn) Ebert, Tiffany (Terry) Ebert, Jason (Angela) Close and Ryan (Brittney) Close and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, son Robert Joseph Pirrung, brothers Joseph, Pirrung, Fr. George Pirrung and Paul Pirrung. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Sept 29, 2018 at 11 A.M. at St. Barbara Catholic Church. Friends and family may call on Saturday at the church prior to the mass beginning at 10 A.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer Association or Parkinson's Foundation. Condolences to the family may be made here on the tribute wall.
