James "Jim" E. Poindexter, 70 of Massillon, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Beacon Pointe in Urichsville.
He was born November 15, 1945 the son of the late Cecil Poindexter and Wilma (Wilson) Dotson.
Jim was an Army veteran serving in Germany.
He was a graduate of Washington High School and loved Massillon Tiger Football.
He is survived by his brother, David (Marian) Poindexter and sister, Lola (Robert) Crawford, and nieces and nephews, Alex Poindexter, Lori Durkin, Dawn Crawford, and Dina Crawford; special friend, Penny Horwath.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Poindexter.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 1PM at Union Lawn Cemetery 48 4th St. NE, Navarre, OH 44662 with military honors.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Stark County Humane Society.
