James Paul Sidles, age 62 of Canton passed away on January 21, 2022.

He was born April 25, 1959 in Akron.

He was preceded in death by his parents, JoAnn (McCord) Sidles and James Sidles, and his sister, Sherry (Sidles) Downey.

Jimmy is survived by his Uncles, Peter Sidles and Jim McCord, nephews, Michael Downey and Justin Downey and many cousins.  He will be missed and was loved by the residents and staff of his current group home.  He enjoyed music, being outside, going to workshop, hugs, and coffee.

He lived from age 6 under the care of the State of Ohio including at Apple Creek Developmental Center, in various Group settings and he finally lived in a four resident home directed by Midwest Health Services. His parents worked tirelessly to improve the quality of care for the disabled.

The family requests that memorials be given to a charity supporting group homes for the disabled or the Smith-Lemli-Optiz foundation.

A memorial will be held at a future date at the Apple Creek Developmental Center Cemetery.
