James F. Wesie, 77, of Jackson Township passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, December 5, 2015.
He was born at home in Jackson Township on March 9, 1938 the son of the late Howard and Catherine (Boron) Wesie.
James graduated from Jackson High School in 1957. He retired in 2000 from Union Drawn Republic Steel where he was a crane operator for many years. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1960-1965 as a Master Tank Gunner. James was also a lifelong member of the AMVETS #12 and also enjoyed fishing and camping.
James is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Susan (Boyd) Wesie, two sons; Thomas Wesie of Colorado, and Jeffrey (Barbara) of Massillon, daughter Pamela and Fiance Kahn Barchue of Massillon, three grandsons Evan Shanower, Cameron Barchue, and James Wesie, sister Judith (Jerry) Shear of New Philadelphia, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; John (Rose) Boyd of Canal Fulton, Frank (Shirley Higbea) Boyd of Nepoleon, OH, Harold Boyd of Massillon, Michael "Tony" (Candace) Boyd of Cape Coral, FL, Linda Hazel of Bolivar, OH, Patricia (Rex) Angel of Sugarcreek and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 from 6-9pm at Heitger Funeral Home, Massillon Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Edward Gretchko, Pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church and will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 127 Cherry Rd. NE, Massillon, OH 44646 on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 10 am. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army, 315 6th Street NE Massillon, OH 44646.
