Janet Elizabeth Smith, age 79 of Massillon, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Community Hospice. She was born October 11, 1942, in Liberty, Ohio the daughter of the late Earl and Evelyn (Sullivan) Chaboude. Janet was a homemaker. She attended Calvary Baptist Church and was a member of the Sons and Daughters of Herman and the Massillon Moose. Janet is survived by daughters, Dawn Smith, DiAnna Seward; son, Donald "Buddy" (Beverly) Smith, Jr.; six grandchildren, Jana Smith, Denaye (Joseph) Hagi, Jeffrey (Erin) Seward, Kara (Jimmy) Swearingen, Kylynne (Adam) Reedy, Jessica (Kelly) Parker, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Smith (2021); grandson, Joshua Simons; siblings, Rachel and Tim. A private graveside service will be held at Brookfield Cemetery in Massillon.
