Janice Marie Brown, 65 of Canton, passed away May 18, 2015 at University Hospital after a very brave and strong battle following complications from heart surgery.

She was born December 29, 1949 in Bethesda the daughter of the late Theodore and Betty (Castello) Hinkle.

She retired from Fresh Mark on April 1, 2015 where she had worked for 28 years.

Janice is survived by her husband of 37 years, Thomas Brown, daughters, Stephanie (Randy) Close, Tammy McCauley, Dawn Ayers; step-children, Thomas Brown, John Brown, and Diane Brown; brothers, Jeff Hinkle, Danny Humphrey; sisters, Tina Hinkle, Paula Hinkle, and Millie Dexter, grandchildren, Andrew Ayers, Kristina Rohr, and Shawn Stumpf, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Rex Hinkle, Theodore Jr, Terry Hinkle and sister, Linda Teague.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Heitger Funeral Home, Massillon Chapel, 639 First St NE from 6 to 8pm.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 22 at the funeral home at 11am.

Burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Massillon.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
