Jerry M. Sherritt, age 84, of Canton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Cincinnati on December 28, 1936, son of the late Lloyd P. and Elnora R. (Greely) Sherritt. Jerry served four years active duty in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the rubber products industry after serving forty years as a self taught  compound development chemist. He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for thirty-nine years. Jerry is survived by his wife of 66 years, Darlene (Squires) Sherritt, son Jeffrey (Donna) Sherritt, daughter Pamela (Jim) Cessna, brother James (Pat) Sherritt of Dayton, Ohio, sister Connie Sue (Jim) Scott of Portland, Oregon, grandchildren Meghan (Randy) Humes, Ashley (Matt) Danecki, Danielle (Ben) Russo, Morgan (Kevin) King, Stephany Sherritt, Amanda (TJ) Dakermanji, and Jeffrey Sherritt Jr., and twelve great-grandchildren with three more on the way. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association or your favorite charity. Calling hours will be held on Monday,  September 13, 2021 at  Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon, 44646, from 4 to 7 P.M. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021,  at 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Jack Kozak officiating. Burial with military honors to follow the service at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville. Condolences to the family may be made here on our tribute wall.
