John A. Cowles, age 47, of Canton, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was born January 22, 1975, in Canton, the son of the late Jimmie C. and Louise (Beggs) Cowles.
John graduated from Sandy Valley High School. He was a laborer and fabricator.  He enjoyed playing guitars, hunting, and fishing.
John was a loving and free-spirited person.  He will be deeply missed by his family.
John is survived by his sister, Deborah (Lynn) Carnahan; brothers, Stephen Cowles and David Cowles (Diane Hays); nephews, Samuel Carnahan and Jacob (Jake Heuker) Carnahan; nieces, Stevi Kay Daville and Brandi Cowles.
He was preceded in death by a nephew, John Pershing.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 9 A.M. to 10 A.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Massillon with The Very Rev. Canon Matthew Mankowski, celebrant.
Burial to follow the service at Sunset Memory Gardens, N. Canton.
