John E. Plyter, age 77 of North Canton, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 8, 1943, in Brockport, NY, son of the late Elwood and Reva (Contant) Plyter.

John was a proud veteran of the Navy and had served during the Vietnam Era.

He was an avid hunter, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  John was very active running and riding bike.  He was a kind soul and the first to offer his helping hand.

John retired from Kodak where he worked for over 30 years.  In his retirement he loved working odd jobs and landscaping.

John is survived by his wife of 21 years, Polly (Hostetler) Plyter, daughters, Lisa (Timothy) Graf; Darci Camacho; son, Dan (Susan) Plyter; step-daughter, Charity (Bobby) Jones; brothers, Darrell (Esther) Plyter, Richard (Timi) Plyter; grandchildren, Megan and Trevor Graf, Nick and Kylee Camacho, and Will and Marin Plyter; great-granddaughter, Ava Camacho, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brother David and son-in-law, Mike Camacho.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 1 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon.
