John L. Raines, age 88 of Massillon, passed away peacefully February 2, 2016. He was born May 27, 2917 in Westernport, MD, son of the late Luther and Margaret McNally Raines. He was a metallurgist at the former Republic Steel Corporation and retired in 1983. He enjoyed many years of retirement from Republic Steel. He is preceded in death by his wife Phyllis. John was a veteran of the Navy and served during WWII. He is survived by close friends whom he considered family. As per his wishes, there will be no services.
