Joseph Memmer, age 68, of North Canton, Ohio, went to peacefully fly with the angels on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

Joe was born September 17, 1957, in Akron, the son of the late Richard and Irene (Budd) Memmer, and is younger brother to Margaret McGowan.

Joe was a very hard working man with many different hobbies. He was a body man for years, working for 30 years at Schoner Chevrolet. He was a skilled craftsman and carpenter. He loved boating, nature, art, traveling, fishing, animals, music, cars, family, and his dogs.

Joe will dearly be missed by many, especially his family.

Joe is survived by his four children, Chrissy and husband Anthony Holb-Memmer, Lisa Memmer and husband Mike Green, Jackie Memmer, and Joey Memmer; sister, Margaret and husband Kevin McGowan and their daughter, (niece) Melissa McGowan Stilton and her husband Jim; grandchildren, Michael, Camron, Jasmine, Connor, Percival, twins, Mya and Tyler, Anthony, and twins, Lillian and Lucille; and his Havanese dogs, Jack, Jamocca, Jinx, Jellybean, Layla, Jamaica, Benny, and Louis.

In accordance with Joe's wishes, there will be a memorial gathering for family and friends to attend at Heitger Funeral Home - JACKSON CHAPEL, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon on Friday, September 18, 2026 from 5 to 8 P.M.
