Joseph Benedict Seifert Sr., age 91, died Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Aultercare of Navarre following a lengthy illness.

He was born March 21, 1920 in Massillon, the son of the late Martin Leo and Emma (Frank) Seifert.

Joseph retired from Reiter Dairy after 40 years of service where he was a milk man and mechanic.

He was an Army veteran serving in WWII during the battle of the bulge receiving a Bronze Star Medal.

He was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church, Bishop Massillon 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus #554, Sons and Daughters of Herman, and Teamsters Union.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Mary Louise (Martin) Seifert married October 14, 1940, 9 children, Mary Jo (Chuck) Meyer, Ronald J. (Judy) Seifert, Judith M. Keefer, Rev. Michael Seifert, Suzanne L. (Mike) Ziegelhofer, Raymond C. (Sharon) Seifert, Paul G. Seifert, Jane F. (Bob) Heitger, and Joseph B. (Jane) Seifert Jr., 25 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Elizabeth Scheetz, Fidelia Scheetz, Martin Seifert Jr., Thomas Seifert, and Eileen Eckroate, son-in-law, Raymond Keefer.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 19 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at St. Barbara Catholic Church and one hour before the service on Monday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 20, 2012 at St. Barbara Catholic Church, 2813 Lincoln Way West, Massillon at 11:00 AM with Rev. Michael Seifert celebrant.

Burial at Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens in North Canton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Table and Chair Fund of the Massillon Knights of Columbus, 988 Cherry Ave NW, Massillon, OH 44647.
