Joseph A. Unferdorfer, age 84, passed away in the presence of his loving family on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Akron General Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

He was born January 5, 1930, in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of  the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Sommer) Unferdorfer.

Joseph retired from Westinghouse where he worked for 30 years as a manufacturing engineer.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and 3rd Degree K of C Ave Maria Council, McKees Rocks, PA.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 61 years Margaret (Monks) Unferdorfer; sons and daughters-in-law Joseph and Mary Unferdorfer of North Lawrence, James and Laura Unferdorfer of Massillon and Thomas and Annette Unferdorfer of Dalton; daughter Patricia Crum of Massillon, daughters and sons-in-law Nancy and John Warner of Massillon and Mary Ann and Brian Phillabaum of Canton, eleven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews in Pittsburgh and Vermont.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Fogarty.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel, 639 First St. N.E., Massillon, Ohio  44646.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 726 First St. N.E. Massillon, Ohio  44646 at 10 A.M.
Burial at Brookfield Cemetery, Massillon, Ohio.
