Josephine "Jo" Casey, age 75 passed away April 29, 2022 at Akron City Hospital.

She was born December 11, 1946 in Akron.

She was a retired elementary school teacher working at Revere Local Schools for 33 years.

Jo was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. She loved to read.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Mark Y. Casey; son, Phillip (Christine) Creed; daughter, Jennifer DeRusha; four granddaughters, Mirabella, Isadora, Katie, and Marion; grandson, Liam Johal.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Michael and Joseph Ferro.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave NW at Noon. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service from 11 AM to Noon at the funeral home.

Burial to follow the service at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.

In lieu of flowers donations in Jo's name may be made to American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123.
