Katherine "Kitty" Pierce, 69 of Jackson Twp. passed away peacefully December 27, 2011 with her family at her side.

She was born August 6, 1942 in Cleveland, the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Wint) Manning.

Kitty retired from Aultcare in October 2011.

She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, James Pierce, two sons, Thomas W. (Anita) Pierce of Highland Village, TX and Kevin P. (Christina) Pierce of Green, a daughter, Kelly (Randy) Baker of North Lawrence; three sisters Ellen Justus of Toledo, Mary (Larry) White of Canal Fulton and Joanne Evanchick of Arizona; grandchildren Tony (Kellie), Skyler, Zoey Pierce, Abby Baker and many wonderful friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Austin Michael Pierce.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church on Friday December 30, 2011 at 12:30PM with Rev. Don King celebrant.

A private inurnment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery will held by the family.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday Dec. 29, 2011 at Heitger Funeral Service - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave NW from 6 to 8 PM .

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Katherine (Kitty) Pierce to Aultman Women's Board Compassionate Care Center c/o Aultman Foundation, 2600 6th St SW, Canton, OH 44701.

The family would like to thank Dr. Steven Grossman and the entire staff at the Compassionate Care Center for the wonderful care Kitty received in her last days.
