Laurel Lynn Meek (Davis) nee Dwiggins, 70, passed away peacefully Monday June 5, 2017 following a brief battle with cancer. Born in Canton, April 11, 1947 to the late Jean and Betty (Welsh) Dwiggins. A 1965 Graduate of Jackson High School. Married to Frederick W. Meek, they had three children Wendy Rafferty, Elizabeth "Wiz", and Frederick Robert "Rob" whom she loved dearly. She loved life, family, and people. Always a kind, selfless, and giving person to all. She enjoyed fishing, family time, and helping others; recently volunteering with the local food bank. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Gail Fawl; brother, Kevin Dwiggins; nephew, Christopher McKamy; and daughter, Elizabeth Meek. Survived by her son, Robert Meek; daughter, Wendy (Bill) Rafferty; grandchildren, Joshua McGuire, Emma Rafferty, and Seth Rafferty; sister, Janice (Bill) Hohn; niece, Erin Fawl; and nephew, Patrick McKamy his children, Rachel and Xander.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of her Life at Rivertree Christian Church, June 14th at 6pm. 7373 Portage St NW, Massillon, OH 44646.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Laurel Davis Memorial Garden Fund ℅ Wendy Rafferty at the Akron Firefighters Credit Union 161 Massillon Rd, Akron, OH 44312.
Her final resting place, and with her family, will be in the Memorial Garden at Bonhomme Presbyterian Church, Chesterfield, Mo.
