Obituary

Leo W. Hohneck, age 95, a resident of Massillon, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2013.

He was born August 12, 1918 and was son of the late Charles and Anna Hohneck.

Leo was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He had attended St. Mary's School and graduated from St. John's High in Canton. He retired from the City of Massillon where he had been a policeman for 20 years and was Massillon Municipal Court Bailiff. He had also worked for WTIG on Sunday's playing the Big Band sounds and Republic Steel Corporation in the payroll department.

Leo served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Europe with the 99th Infantry Division, 395th Battalion as a switch board operator.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and Peter Kautzman of Houston, TX and three grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 10 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Edward Gretchko celebrant.

Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 8:45 to 9:45 at Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel prior to the funeral mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary Church, 726 First St. N.E., Massillon, Ohio 44646.
