Leroy B. "Buck" Maurer, age 86 of Massillon, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 at The Pines Healthcare Center. He was born September 11, 1934, in North Canton the son of the late Francis and Berdella (Snyder) Maurer. Leroy had worked for Ohio Drilling. He was a past member of St. Barbara Catholic Church. He was a little league coach, loved playing cards, and dominos. Leroy is survived by two sons, Raymond Maurer, William "Bill" (Judy) Maurer; Daughter, Deborah (David) Caldwell; one brother, Patrick (Crystal) Maurer; four Sisters, Mary Webster, Agnes DeVault, Elizabeth (James) Tully, Patricia Everhardt; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Marie Maurer, sister, Helen Pitman; brothers, Anthony, Albert, Robert, Joe, Peter, August, John, Louis, and Ralph Maurer, two infant siblings, and one great-grandchild. Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel, 639 1st St NE, from 4pm to 6pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the funeral home at 10:30 AM with Rev. Brian Cline officiating. Burial to follow the service at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens in North Canton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
