Lester A. Conner, 95 of Jackson Twp. passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013.

He was born November 18, 1917 in McVeytown, PA the son of the late Charles and Edna (Mertz) Conner.

He enlisted in the Civilian Conservation Corps. Lester was a Army WWII veteran serving in the African Theater.

He founded Alcon Tool Company in Akron with his brother, James, retiring in 1982 after 35 years of service.

He was a member of Shady Hollow Country Club for 50 years, Bear's Paw Country Club in Naples, FL and was a 32nd Degree Mason.

He is the father of Charles E. (Cindy) Conner of Akron, Marylane "Lanie" Conner of Gilbert, AZ; Christopher P. (Mary) Conner of Walnut Creek, CA. Les is the proud grandfather of Michelle, Alyson, Lindsay, and Kristin Conner, Nicole and Eric Joseph, Jack and Ellie Conner. He is survived by his sister, Phyllis Beacon and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marylane (Burkhardt) Conner (4-23-2012), five brothers, James Corbett, Charles, John, Rex, and Fred Conner, two sisters, Nellie and Ruth.

Funeral Services will be held, Monday, July 1, 2013 at Heitger Funeral Service - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave NW, at 11am with Rev. Joseph O'Donnell officiating.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Heitger Funeral Service - Jackson Chapel from 2pm to 4pm.

Burial will be at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens in North Canton.
