Lisa Ann (Gentzler) Brendel Shafer, 48, of Jackson Township, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 3rd, 2016. She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon Gentzler, and survived by her mother, Rita Gentzler, her sister, Jennifer (Thomas) Knapik, her children, Caitlin, Jordan, and Logan Brendel, Jack Shafer, her granddaughter, Madeline Nida, and her nephew, Levi Knapik.
After graduating from Jackson High School, Lisa went on to work for her parents at Stark Timber Products, where she excelled in sales. She enjoyed working alongside her father and family for nearly 20 years. Lisa was known for her artistic abilities and a dry, witty sense of humor that could lighten any mood. She spoke eloquently and had the ability to make conversation with anyone, making you feel as though you had known her for years. Her joking, her laughter, and her smile will never be forgotten.
With a creative zest for life and love of sports, Lisa loved drawing, riding her horses, singing, dancing, and skiing. Lisa enjoyed attending Jordans band performances and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes, where Caitlin was a student. She could often be found on the sidelines, cheering on her boys, Logan and Jack, at their many sporting events.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 9th, 2016 at Heitger Funeral Home Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Avenue, Massillon, OH, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 10th, 2016, at 11:00, at The Chapel Akron Campus, 135 Fir Hill, Akron, OH. There will be an additional viewing prior to the service, at 10:00 at the church.
Her final resting place will be Oakwood Cemetery.
