Marie E Pry,(nee Wintrow, Duve') 81, born July 22, 1935, passed away peacefully in her lakeside Jackson Twp. home on Saturday, December 17, 2016. Marie graduated from South High School, earned a BS in Education, then went on to obtain her MS from Akron University .She loved cheerleading, sports, and was a member of Alpha Delta Phi Sorority.
Marie retired from Physical Education with Akron Schools. She was most passionate about advancing girls sports while teaching and coaching at Buchtel High School.
Marie's many joys in life included, her love of animals, country music, voracious reading and learning new things, senior olympics, all dancing, including line dancing at McKinley Eagles Club, and wintering in Florida. Marie was a member of St. Jacob Lutheran Church. With her husband, she loved classic cars and  was a member of Stark County Street Rodder's Association and Osceola Rodders.
Marie is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Don Pry of Jackson Twp, daughters and sons-in-law , Andrea and James Taylor,  Marla Duve' and Tom Starczewski, sons and daughters-in-law, Scott (Karen) Pry, Mark and Jennifer Pry; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Marie  was preceded in death by parents and siblings; brothers, Harold Wintrow, Jr., Russell Wintrow, David Wintrow and sister Katherine "Kay" Gemind .
Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at St. Jacob Lutheran Church, 8697 Mudbrook St. N.W., Massillon, at 10:00 AM with Pastor Lynn Williamson officiating.
Calling Hours: Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Burial to follow the service in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Massillon.
