IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marilyn June
Studer
March 2, 1932 – June 18, 2015
Marilyn June Studer, age 83, died Thursday, June 18, 2015, at St. Luke Lutheran Community.
She was born March 2, 1932, in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of Albert and Dorothy Hesse.
A former Massillon Tiger Cheerleader and Basketball Player, Marilyn continued her community involvement as a member of the Massillon Women's Club and a long-time volunteer at Massillon Community Hospital. She gave generously of her time and talent-much of it working with the plants, flowers, and treasures in the hospital's gift shop. She was a true and loyal friend, enjoying activities such as garden/card club, bowling teams, boating trips, and other wonderful adventures. She loved her sons with her whole heart and was always a part of the action with their friends and then their families. Marilyn cherished time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sharing her family traditions of holiday gatherings, vacations, music, games, and those amazing Christmas cookies. Until Alzheimer's disease made it impossible, Marilyn kept her mind sharp with current events, engaged conversation, and crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
Marilyn is survived by sons, Tom (Erica) Studer, Steve (Becky) Studer, and Scott Studer; grandchildren, Abbe Studer, Greg (Katherine) Studer, Heather Studer, and Laura Studer; and great-grandchildren, Cole Studer and Lillian Studer.
She was preceded in death by husband Donald R. Studer; sister, Alice (William) Vogt; and Daniel Hunter.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Heitger Funeral Service - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave NW, from 9am to 11am.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday at the funeral home at 11AM with Rev. Les Peine officiating.
Her final resting place will be at Sunset Hill Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Massillon Woman's Club, 210 4th St NE, Massillon, OH 44646, or Alzheimer's Association, 408 9th St SW, Canton, OH 44707or a charity of your choice.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of St. Luke Lutheran Home.
