Mark S. Mellinger, age 79 of Canton, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at home surrounded by his family.

He was born July 31, 1946, in Elyria, the son of the late William and Helen (Sorrell) Mellinger.

He was a veteran of the Army serving in Korea during Vietnam.

He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

Mark is survived by his wife, Janice (Seifert) Mellinger; sons, Matthew (Lauren) Mellinger, Nathan (Lindsey) Mellinger; grandchildren, Amber and Cole.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Kit Mellinger.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 241 S. Main St at 10:00 am with Rev. Matthew Zwilling officiating.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave NW, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Internment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville on April 24, 2026 and 10:15 AM with military honors.
