Mark D. Pennington, age 59 of Perry Twp., passed away peacefully on August 4, 2016 surrounded by his loving family, following a two year battle with cancer. He was born July 22, 1957 in Massillon and is the son of Carl and Doreen (Rohr) Pennington of Jackson Twp. Mark was a 1975 graduate of Tuslaw High School. He was a member of Teamsters Locals #92 and #24. He drove truck for 33 years and retired from USF Holland in 2008. He loved fishing in Florida and riding his motorcycle. He had a passion for drag racing and NASCAR. He was a great friend to many and an expert at fixing anything. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Marcia (Moore) Pennington, daughter and her fiancé Kelcie Pennington and Ryan Thompson, brother and sister-in-law Steven Pennington and Marianna Schafer, loving sister Carole Pennington (Joe Coultas), mother-in-law Mercedes Moore, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Craig Moore and Kristine Nielsen, nephew Jacob (Nicole) Pennington and niece Amber (Joe) Brigner and many great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents John and Wilma Rohr, Marvin and Dorothy Davis, father-in-law William Moore and brother-in-law Ryan Moore. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2016 from 2 to 5 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave., N.W., Massillon, Ohio 44646. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2016 at 11 A.M. at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 226 - 3rd St. S.E., Massillon, Ohio 44646. The Rev. George Baum will officiate. There will be a calling hour from 10 to 11 A.M. at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aultman Hospice, 2821 Woodlawn Ave. N.W., Canton, Ohio 44708 or a charity of your choice.
