Obituary

Martha Elizabeth. Seifert, age 87, of Massillon., passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born February 25, 1925, in North Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Frederick and Florence (Boron) Konen.

Martha was a graduate of Villa Maria Academy in Pennsylvaia where she served as class officer. She and her late husband were farmers who later owned and operated McDonaldsville Feed and Supply and Seifert's Flower Mill. The couple were active members of Stark County Farm Bureau. Martha served as presiding judge in Jackson Twp for the Board of Elections for 37 years.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she served as Eucharistic Minister and belonged to the Altar Rosary Society and Legion of Mary.

Martha is survived by her loving children Thomas (Vickie) Seifert Jr. of Dalton, Kathleen (David Sr.) Matheson of North Canton, Joyce (Richard) Klingshirn of Westlake, Rita (Ronald Sr.) Hoagland of Canal Fulton, Timothy Seifert of North Canton, Lori (James) Nobles of Denver, Colorado, brothers Clement (Mary) Konen of Canton, Carl (Beverly) Konen of Clinton, grandchildren, Steven Seifert, Tammi Kiko, David Matheson Jr., Benjamin Matheson, Bernadette Matheson, Suzette Matheson, Bryan Hertzig, Douglas Hertzig, Ronald Hoagland Jr., Richard Hoagland, Robert Hoagland, great-grandchildren, Dustin Seifert, Kayla Seifert, Kyall Kiko, Kymbirlee Kiko, Darryn Kiko, Michael Kiko, Joelsyn Kiko, Isabella Matheson and Noelle Matheson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Thomas Seifert Sr. who died in 2006, brother Arthur Konen, sister Mary Schalmo, grandson Christopher Seifert and son-in-law Kim Hertzig.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 10 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church with Revs. Michael Seifert and Edward Gretchko celebrants. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec.12, 2012 from 5 to 8 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel and on Thursday, December 13, 2012 from 9 to 10 A.M. at the church prior to the funeral mass.
