Mary Virginia Braun, age 93, of Massillon passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Sterling House in Canton.

She was born April 4, 1920, in Cincinnati, the daughter of the late Louis and Louise M. (Meale) Simone.

She retired in 1990 from Demmer Hardware after 22 years of service.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Mary Alter Rosary Society, Massillon Senior Center, and AARP 3336. Also Mary was a volunteer for Massillon Community Hospital and she enjoyed reading, gardening, and crafts.

Mary is survived by sons, W. "Gerry" Braun of Orlando FL, Michael (Patti) Braun of Perry Twp.; daughters, Sharon (John) Hotz of Fremont, OH, Becky (Thomas) Koontz of Blacksburg, VA; six grandchildren, John and Brad Hotz, Stacy Riggs, Aaron Koontz, Emily and Alec Braun, two great-grandchildren and four step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband, Walter 'Bud' Braun, two brothers, Nicholas and Alfred Simone, and infant daughter, Pam.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church, at 10AM with Rev. Edward Gretchko celebrant.

Burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
