Mary M. Byham, age 80 of Jackson Twp., passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017.
She was born in Canton, Ohio on August 30, 1937.
Mary was a registered nurse and retired from Timken Mercy Medical Center. Co-founder of the Jackson Mama-Bears Football organization. Hobbies included ocean cruises, travel, baking, sewing, knitting, and playing cards.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Rosary Alter Society.
Mary is survived by Philip, her husband of 59 years. Five children, Christopher, Anne (Larry) Massie, Michael, Mary Kay (Ty) Wallace, Jeffrey (Denise) Byham, eleven Grandchildren, and nineteen Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved "Hap", Charles Marshall who raised her, and daughter-in-law, Laura Byham.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 10 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Massillon with Rev. Edward Gretchko celebrant. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 4 to 7 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon 44646.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mama Bears - Jackson High School, 7600 Fulton Road N.W., Massillon, Ohio 44646.
