Mary Frances Hensley, age 89 of Jackson Twp., passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016.

She attended Kent State University and graduated from Aultman Hospital School of Nursing in 1947.  She was a registered nurse at Mercy Medical Center retiring in 1988.

While working in the family retail business, Dale's Fabric Sales in Greentown, she sponsored and wrote the format for the Gertrude Eisele Sewing Show on local T.V.

Mary volunteered for the Canton Players Guild, wrote poetry and short stories.  She enjoyed history, archeology and traveling, including an educational trip to Israel.

She was an active member of Crossroads Methodist Church.

Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Adrienne and Michael Manella of Jackson Twp.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Maurice P. Hensley and parents Clifton D. and Ina M. (Bishop) DeMass.

Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 11 A.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon.  The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
