Mary Ann Kachovec, age 96, of Massillon passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 at Amherst Meadows Nursing Home.

She was born March 5, 1919, in Coal Ridge, Ohio the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Kotch) Brier.

Mary was a great cook and loved gardening in her vegetable and flower gardens.

Mary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Carolyn Kachovec; grandchildren, Kate and Joseph; sisters, Ann Brier, Vera Rupple; sister-in-law, Virginia Brier.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Kachovec (1979); brothers, John, Andy, Mike, Steve, George, and Pete Brier.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Heitger Funeral Home – Massillon Chapel, 639 First St NE, from 5-7pm.

Christian Burial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 8, 2015 by Fr. Edward Gretchko, Pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church and will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 127 Cherry Rd. N.E., Massillon, Ohio 44646 at 10 A.M.

Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, in Massillon.
