Mary Lee Maloney, age 87 of Massillon, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 1, 2022 at her home surrounded by her children. She was born January 22, 1935, in Dover the daughter of the late Rocco and Constance (Fazi) Contini. Mary Lee is remembered as a spiritual, generous, and caring woman, always ready to serve God and her community. She was a compassionate, devoted wife, mother, friend, and grandmother, who will be forever missed by her loving family. Mary Lee graduated from St. Joseph High School in Dover. In 1958, she married Bob Maloney and was married for 49 years. Mary Lee was an active member of St. Barbara Catholic Church for over 50 years where she served on various committees. She was a member of the choir for over 40 years, Ladies Guild, PTA, Mr. and Mrs. Club, and a Eucharistic Minister to the home bound. She was also involved with Meals on Wheels for over 30 years. Mary Lee's greatest joy was spending time with her family and close friends. Mary Lee is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Lori Maloney of Massillon, daughter, Lisa Maloney of Chicago, daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Tim Dare of Chicago, son, Chris Maloney of Chicago; three grandchildren, Haley (Tyler), Timmy, and Olivia Dare; many nieces, nephews, and dearest friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Maloney; eight siblings, Joseph, Joan, Lucille, Laura, Ida, Delores, Louis, and James. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at St. Barbara Catholic Church, at 10:30 am with The Very Rev. Canon Matthew (Maciej) Mankowski officiating. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave NW, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Burial to follow the service at Calvary Cemetery in Massillon. The family would like to thank the amazing care team from Aultman Hospice that included her main nurse, Laura and her aide, Debbie along with her independent caregivers Gina and Olivia.
