Mary 'Tootie' Lewis, age 96, of Massillon died Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Shady Lawn Health Care Community.

She was born December 21, 1914, in Massillon the daughter of the late Oliver H. and Edith Mae (Eisenbrei) Danner.

Tootie retired from J.C. Penney in 1984 where she was a clerk for many years.

She was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church, Massillon Plate Collector's Club, J.C. Penney's Retirees Club, Brookfield Retirees Club, three card clubs, an avid bowler, and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Tootie is survived by two daughters and spouses, Janine and PerLee Hartman, Joleen and Brian Ridgeway; daughter-in-law, Susan Lewis; sister-in-law, Louise Lewis; friend Lill; grandchildren and spouses, David and Vicky Hartman, Laura and Doug Dill, William and Shauna Lewis, Elizabeth and Jeff Keller, Jennifer Lewis, Romney and Danielle Ridgeway, Shannon and Laura Ridgeway, Lauren and Chris Bell; great-grandchildren, Yolanda, J.D., Shyn, Brynn, Sami, Bailey, Hayden, Nya, Rose, Collin; and great-great-grandson, Mason.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Lewis; son, Brin Lewis; siblings, Evelyn, Peg, Frank, LeRoy, Dolly, and Miriam; four friends, Frank 'Duffy' Eisenbrei, Peg Schrader, Celia and Joyce.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 27 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Heitger Funeral Service - Massillon Chapel, 639 First St NE with a prayer vigil service at 8PM and on Wednesday September 28, from 9am to 10am at the church prior to the service.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at St. Barbara Catholic Church, 2813 Lincoln Way West, at 10:00 AM with Rev. Thomas Cebula celebrant.

Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery in Massillon.
