Obituary

Mary Margaret "Mae" Painter, age 89 of Massillon, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021. She was born August 14, 1932, in Massillon the daughter of the late Howard and Martha  (Oberhauser) Wantz. Mae retired from Progressive Chevrolet where she was a secretary. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mae is survived by daughters, Monica Weick, Darlene Painter and Barbara (Michael) Sylvester; sons, Jude Painter and Harold "Chip" (Lisa) Painter;  sisters, Patricia (Alfred) Kerr and Florence Tully; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Painter who died in 1973, brothers, Robert, Raymond, and Joseph Wantz and son-in-law, Timothy Weick. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on  Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 10 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Raymond Paul celebrant. Burial to follow the mass at St. Barbara Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul  at St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Condolences to the family may be made on the tribute wall.
