Mary Evelyn Slicker 86 of Massillon passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 24, 2016 at Bel-Aire Nursing Home.
She was born March 31, 1930 in Massillon the daughter of the late Alvin and Florence (Clementz) Seifert.
She retired as an inspector from Crown Cork and Seal after 25 years of service.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of Central States Retirees. Mary loved following her son when he played and officiated football games. Mary enjoyed gardening, had a green thumb, enjoyed knitting, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her son, Bruce (Lee Ann) Slicker; five grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Arlene, Margaret, and Janet Seifert; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Rita Barnhart; brothers, Howard, Robert, Dale, and Eugene Seifert.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave NW at 5pm.
The family will receive friends from 3:30pm to 5pm prior to the service on Thursday.
Her final resting place will be at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens in North Canton.
