Mary E. Smeyres, age 84 of Massillon, passed away Friday, July 1, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born July 22, 1937, in Coshocton, Ohio, the daughter of the late James and Mary (Saylor) Bradford.
Mary was a manager for Campbell Oil Stores and retired in 1997.
She was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church and St. Barbara Bible Study Group.  She enjoyed sewing and knitting and was an avid reader.
Mary is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Sheila Smeyres and Dan and Shelley Smeyres; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Tillman Manuel III, brothers, Jim (Sandy) Bradford and Fred (Eloise) Bradford; sisters, Susie Meredith, Sara Long and Joyce Corbett; grandchildren, Matthew and Jason Smeyres and Dale Jr. and Christina Smeyres and Tillman Manuel IV, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. Smeyres; and son, Dale Smeyres Sr.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Barbara Catholic Church,  2813 Lincoln Way West, Massillon, 44647 with The Very Rev. Canon Matthew Mankowski celebrant.
Burial to follow the service at Newman Creek Cemetery.
