Marylane (nee Burkhardt) Conner, age 89 of Jackson Township, passed away on April 23, 2012. She was born January 19, 1923 in Braddock, Pa, where she graduated from Scott High School and Carnegie Institute of Technology.

She was a buyer for Kaufmann's and O'Neil's. She also taught home economics through the University of Pennsylvania's extension program before marrying and raising a family.

She was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, Hillfield Garden Club, Ikebana International, former president of Canton Garden Center and was a Nationally Accredited Flower Show Judge.

She will be remembered as a wonderful wife and mother, a great gardener and a fabulous cook.

She joins her parents Francis and Grace (Kelly)Burkhardt in heaven. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Francis, Louise, Richard, Irmina and Regis.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Lester A. Conner, children Charlie (Cindy) Conner, Marylane 'Lanie' Conner and Chris (Mary) Conner, grandchildren, Michelle, Alyson, Lindsay and Kristin Conner, Nicole and Eric Joseph, Jack and Ellie Conner. Also surviving are brothers, Eugene (Delores) and Raymond (Renee) Burkhardt, sisters-in-law, Beverly, Colleen, Virginia Burkhardt, Phyllis Beacon and Frances Conner and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 4 to 8 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel 5850 Wales Ave NW Massillon.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 11 A.M. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd, Uniontown, Ohio 44685 with Rev. Joe O'Donnell celebrant.

Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, North Canton, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Queen of Heaven Catholic Church or Canton Garden Center.
