Melissa T. Cason, age 22 of Doylestown, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born April 5, 1990 in Rock Hill S.C. She was a 2008 Graduate of Chippewa High School where she was a cheerleader and a cheerleading coach. She was an exchange student with the International Scholar Laureate Program and was just recently invited to the Presidential Inauguration 2013. Melissa was a senior at the University of Akron where she was a member of Phi Delta Epsilon and Relay For Life.

She is survived by her mother Kathy Hartmann, father Vince Cason, sisters Chrystal and Susan and brother Raymond Cason, maternal grandparents David and Josephine Smith and Richard and Dee Cearfoss.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 21, 2012 from 5 to 8 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 10 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Butcher officiating. Burial will follow at North Canton Cemetery.
