Merrie Jo Vaughn, age 78 of Canton, passed away Monday, October 27, 2025 at her home. She was born February 12, 1947, in Canton, the daughter of the late Don and Marcella "Pete" Hostetler. Merrie Jo retired from Key Bank after over 20 years of service. She was a member of Zion UCC in North Canton, she was involved with many church groups, and was a past Sunday School Superintendent. Merrie Jo is survived by her husband, John Vaughn; son, Richard Vaughn; cousins, Gary (Paula) Hostetler, Mark (Mary Jo) Hostetler, Dale (Martha) Mickey. She was preceded in death by daughter, Kathy Jo. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave NW, Massillon at 12 Noon with Rev. Carl Pace officiating. Calling hours will be held an hour prior to the service from 11AM to Noon at the funeral home. Burial to follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery in Canton.
