Milo "Bruce" Merritt, age 80 of Jackson Twp., passed away Monday, December 27, 2021. He was born February 1, 1941, in Redlands, California, the son of the late Milo and Marjorie (Eckenrod) Merritt. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam Era. Bruce retired in 2014 from NOVA Crisis Center after 25 years of service. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. Milo is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary "Kathy" (Falkosky) Merritt, sons, Matthew B. (Lisa) Merritt, Michael P. (Melanie) Merritt; daughter, Megan S. (Dan) Scharville; sisters, Phyllis A. Beamer, Janet L. McGovern; grandchildren, Jack and Susie Merritt, Sam and Sophia Scharville, and Evan and Julia Merritt. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W. from 1 to 3 P.M. Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Canton at 10 A.M. with Fr. Jay Clark celebrant. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or Salvation Army 315 - 6th St. N.E., Massillon, Ohio 44646 .
